Sound Wave Scuba, Vashon Island

Author: Scott Roberts

I dove with Sound Wave Scuba on two occasions while taking my advanced certification course.  They provide service to all areas of the South Puget Sound.  Our instructor arranged for them to pick us up at the Point Defiance Marina.  The boat also runs dives out of Alki.

The boat looks like it was made for diving.  I has a small cabin that you can squeeze about eight divers into.  The rear portion of the deck is completely covered.   There are bungee cords along both inside edges of the boat that will hold all of your tanks in place.  Benches run along both sides which provide easy access for putting on your BCs and tanks.  Hooks line the ceiling of the covered area providing a nice place to hang your mask.  There are two fin ladders that hang off of the back deck.  Entry and exit is as easy as it gets.  It can get pretty crowded, but I guess that is to be expected.

Our instructor provided most of the pre-dive briefings, but the skipper seemed very knowledgeable.  If you are looking for a boat dive in the South/Central Puget Sound area, Sound Wave Scuba would be a great choice.

We have dived the following sites with sound wave scuba:
Tacoma Narrows Bridge (West end)
Z's Reef

Dalco Wall
